I am a huge Mortal Kombat fan, I have been since the first game was released and I would instead of eating a healthy lunch. Use the lunch money my parents gave me to play Mortal Kombat at the local pizza shop… If I could play it! I say this because the game was so popular that if you did not get their early, you had no chance to play it!
The Mortal Kombat series is fantastic and while Mortal Kombat II will always be my favorite game (and one of the best SNES arcade adaptations if you ask me) I actually like the majority of the series.
When it was rebooted as Mortal Kombat for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 I was blown away by how good a job they did. Not only did you have your standard arcade mode, you now had a fully fleshed out story and a crypt where you could collect collectibles from. The story was incredible and is the best story of any fighting game. Speaking of which, I do not think that Mortal Kombat gets the credit it deserves for its epic lore.
Mortal Kombat X would be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and then the Mortal Kombat XL which was the complete version of the game would be released about a year later. It followed on from the Mortal Kombat reboot and while the story was considerably shorter, I liked what they did and thought that the new characters they brought in were really cool.
This brings us to Mortal Kombat 11. Ed Boon teased a few weeks ago that the game would be shown at E3, but then denied it so perhaps there is some truth to the rumor that there is going to be a teaser at E3. We got Injustice 2 last year, so if I were a betting man, I would bet that we would get Mortal Kombat 11 in the next year or so.
As a huge fan of the series, I really do not want them to radically change what they did with Mortal Kombat X. Give us more of the same with a few bells and whistles, not to mention an epic continuation of the story and the fans will be happy.
