You may have heard the news that since E3 Nintendo share prices have dropped and apparently Nintendo Switch sales have dropped and the attach rate of games to console is not what Nintendo had hoped it would be.
I love the Nintendo Switch, but I must admit that I have not purchased a brand new game for it since Kirby Star Allies! I wanted to share with you what games I feel the Nintendo Switch needs to get people excited like they were this time last year.
Grand Theft Auto V
This has been rumored to death and many people thought that it was going to be one of the big announcements at E3 this year. Grand Theft Auto V is already an “old” game and has been re-released already and you would have to think that a version that comes out on the Switch is not going to be comparable to what Rockstar did on the PS4 and Xbox One. Still, Rockstar releasing GTA V on the Nintendo Switch would be a huge boost and having a game like this on the go would be amazing.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for me is the best game in the series, but it was not exactly a brand new game. It was an enhanced version of a game we already had on the Wii U. I think the time is now for Mario Kart to become Nintendo Kart and the Nintendo Switch is the console it needs to be on. So far no Nintendo console or handheld has gotten two Mario Kart games, but I feel that as the Nintendo Switch did not get a brand new Mario Kart game that people would not mind.
How on earth has there not been some kind of teaser for a proper Animal Crossing game on the Nintendo Switch yet? The Animal Crossing series is insanely popular, especially in Japan. You would have to think that a new Animal Crossing game and I mean a core game not some kind of weird spin-off, would be a huge success. I honestly find it super odd that this has not been announced yet.
New Super Mario Bros Switch
I loved Super Mario Odyssey, but I have also loved the New Super Mario Bros series. The Nintendo DS, Wii, 3DS and Wii U have all had games in the New Super Mario Bros series and I would love to see what Nintendo would do with this franchise on the Nintendo Switch. There is still no better 2D platform game than Mario and I cannot wait to get one of the Nintendo Switch.
Super Mario Collection
The Mario All-Stars collection on the Nintendo Wii is one of the most half-assed collections I have ever had the misfortune to buy. I think Nintendo needs to make a new Mario collection and not just have the 2D games, but Mario 64, Sunshine, Galaxy and if they can 3D Land and World. To say a collection like this would be a smash hit is the understatement of the century.
