The folks at Rockstar have finally dropped their long-awaited trailer for Red Dead Redemption II and while I was already in as soon as this game was announced. After watching this trailer, I am super in.
The trailer shows a lot of what the story is going to be. It is set about 12 years before the events of the first game and the days of the outlaws in the west are numbered. One of the last gangs run by one of the people from the first game, Dutch is being hunted by lawmen and bounty hunters after a robbery goes wrong in the town of Blackwater. Blackwater was a major part of the first game so I am interested to see how it looks a decade or so earlier.
The graphics and animation are just phenomenal as cheesy as it sounds, if you squinted your eyes, you would swear that you were watching a movie. Rockstar is one of the very best when it comes to crafting a story in a game and I have no doubt that this game will be no different. The first Red Dead Redemption game has one of the best stories I have ever had the pleasure to play through in a game so I am really excited to see what they do here. I think a huge part of this story is going to be about the relationships of the people in the game, who they can and cannot trust and as these are outlaws, you can bet that there will be many double crosses along the way.
By far the most amazing thing was a glimpse of what looked like a young Johns Marston. His story was truly incredible and to be honest I am happy with the way it closed, but getting to see him in his younger days is certainly something I am very excited to experience. In the trailer, it looks like young Marston has gotten himself into a bit of trouble so who knows, this could be one of the major things that put him on the path that would ultimately lead him to the events of the first game.
Red Dead Redemption II is going to be released at the end of October and no matter if you are a PlayStation or Xbox gamer, you have to have this game on your list!
