Sony Announces PlayStation Hits

Sony Announces PlayStation Hits

Now here is something that took me by surprise. Sony has announced that some of their biggest PlayStation 4 games will be re-released at a budget price point and called PlayStation Hits. What is surprising is that this has not happened already as in the past they have had their Greatest Hits line dating all the way back to the original PlayStation where they would re-release some of the biggest selling games at a newly reduced price.

This new PlayStation Hits line will start on June 28th and so far 15 games have been announced and they all have a 19.99 price point. The USA and Canada line up is as follows.

Some huge PS4 exclusives are listed

Uncharted 4

Infamous Second Son

Little Big Planet 3

Richet And Clank

Street Fighter V

The Last Of Us Remastered

Bloodborne

Drive Club

Yakuza 0

Yakuza Kiwami

Killzone Shadowfall

All of these are fantastic games, but some 3rd party games are also part of the PlayStation Hits series. Doom, Battlefield 4, Metal Gear Solid V and Project Cars. There really is not a bad game in the bunch!

While the above is the game line up for the USA and Canada. PlayStation fans in Europe are getting two extra games as part of the PlayStation Hits initial line up these are Batman Arkham Knight and Middle Earth Shadow Of Mordor. As well as this, Europe is also getting a special PlayStation Hits console bundle which is coming with a 1TB PS4, Ratchet And Clank, Uncharted 4 and The Last Of Us.

I have always had a soft spot for this line from Sony. Here in the UK, it was originally called PlayStation Platinum before changing to Hits, but I still think it is a cool idea. The only thing raising my eyebrows is that many of these games can be purchased pre-owned for far less than the 19.99 asking price so it will be interesting to see how this line does.
