Let me start by saying that this console generation has certainly seen me play more on my PlayStation 4 than Xbox One, but I still do love my Xbox One. Despite the rocky start, Xbox has turned things around and I like a lot of what Microsoft is doing and think that the Game Pass is one of the best deals in gaming right now……. But it could be so much better.
I have been lucky and had a few Game Pass trials since it launched. I think in total I have enjoyed about three months of Game Pass and I have always found something fun to play. I got to play Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2 thanks to Game Pass and eventually, I will pick those up as physical copies. I know some people complain about the game selection, but I think it is great and getting all of the Xbox exclusive content the day it is released is a real sweet deal.
The problem that I have with Xbox Game Pass is that I already pay for Xbox Live Gold, I already play for PlayStation Plus, I already pay for Netflix, WWE Network and so on. It is like everyone wants 8 to 10 bucks a month out of me these days and at a point, you have to realize that you are spending a ton of money each month and something has to give.
I really do think that Game Pass is great, but I think it would be even better if Xbox could have some kind of combined subscription. Where you got a pretty big discount would be a real pleaser for fans and in all honesty, I could see some people making the jump from PlayStation to Xbox if they were to do this. For a parent buying their kid a new console, Xbox One’s monthly asking price will seem a lot better when they find out that it comes with a ton of games, what a great way for a new Xbox One owner to start their Xbox journey.
I think of Xbox could get the Game Pass and Xbox Live together in one subscription for let’s just say 12 bucks that the majority of Xbox One owners would snap this up in an instant. I would love to know if you guys subscribe to Xbox Live, Game Pass or maybe both and what your feelings are on them in the comments section down below.
