I have had an absolute blast playing through the story mode of Red Dead Redemption II. While I do not think it is quite as good as the first game, it certainly is one of the best games of 2018.
The funny thing is, Red Dead Redemption II was released to incredible critical acclaim and it sold phenomenally well. Yet it really was only half the package as Red Dead Redemption II online was not ready or it was held back so that people would actually play through the story.
It has now entered beta and it is actually very well made, considering this is the beat. It is launching with five game modes. Shootout, Hostile Territory, Name Your Weapon, Most Wanted and Make It Count. There is an honor system, the large open world, you can play by yourself as a group and in general, there is no shortage of stuff to do here.
Now I plan on talking about these at great length at some point, but the one game mode that has really caught people off guard is Make It Count. Make It Count is Rockstar’s take on the Battle Royale genre.
There are two sub modes in Make It Count. One will see you play with a bow and arrow and the other with throwing knives. The idea is the same as it is with other Battle Royale games. You want to be the last cowpoke standing and to do that you will have to survive. The playing area will get gradually smaller and smaller as it does in other Battle Royale style games.
Already this mode is blowing up on YouTube and Twitch and it is going to be very interesting to see if this takes off in the same way that Blackout Mode did for Call of Duty Black Ops IIII.
