Ok, so I am a huge fan of Overwatch. It is one of the most fun first person shooter games I have played in years, but it is not just the gameplay that makes me love it. It is the characters and the setting. Blizzard has done an amazing job with this cast of characters and I have loved how the comic book series has expanded the lore. Also, I think the “Events” that they have done have been awesome, especially Junkenstein's Revenge!
What made me post this today was that I literally just gone done reading Blizzard’s latest Overwatch comic, Overwatch Uprising which is a prequel that tells the story of The King’s Row Uprising where a group of robots basically rise up in London and all hell breaks loose.
McCree is in London when this goes down and is trapped behind enemy lines. At Overwatch HQ some of the team have to decide if they should ignore protocol and head to London to help McCree and stop the uprising. I do not want to spoil too much as it is an awesome prequel story. It features a ton of characters such as Soldier 76, Winston, Ana, Mercy, Reaper, and Tracer. If you are a fan of the lore of Overwatch then I cannot recommend it highly enough.
It also has gotten a lot of people talking about how the Overwatch event that is going to happen in April might be based on the King’s Row Uprising. This would be really cool if it is true and Blizzard can count me in. I have really enjoyed the events that have added a little bit of story to Overwatch and I think this one here could be the most story driven Overwatch event yet. Also on a side note, I really wish all these events would stay playable, even after they have ended.
