Life is Feudal: MMO is a Hardcore Sandbox RPG and MMORPG, set in a Realistic Medieval fictional world. So what exactly does this mean? Let us figure it out.
Life is Feudal imposes a lot of hardcore gaming elements. Full loot, free PvP, assets destruction during sieges and raids, complex crafting and no target combat systems - these are just some of features that makes our game rather hardcore then casual "theme park" MMORPG.
Sandbox means that our goal is to design a virtual world with its own set of mechanics and rules. We’re aiming to establish an great and expansive realm letting players do anything their imagination desires. Remember the real sandbox from your childhood? The place, where you could do whatever you put your mind with some sand, tools and your hands? A place where you could dig tunnels, shovel moats, build castles and raise hills?
Basically, the same things you will be able to do in our game: you can shape terrain in any way you like, you can raise ground, lower ground, flatten it for further building placements, dig tunnels, even find ore veins and mine them. You can make a huge pyramid with your friends and dig a maze inside of it just for fun. Imagination is the only limit!
If you’re not feeling yourself like a digger or miner, tame the land from the inside! You can always make a house, establish a village, town or even a castle! We will let you build a whole castle walls with sections, allowing you to build it however you like. Who knows, maybe you will be the first one to build the Great Wall in our world. Same goes for buildings – you can either choose to use preset buildings (such as windmills, warehouses, keeps etc.) or design your own multistory building square by square and build them however you like.
MMORPG stands for massively multiplayer online role-playing game. This means, that you won’t be alone in your sandbox, there will be a plenty of other players aiding you to accomplish your own goals, or working against you to further their own, all the time bringing a new shape to our virtual world. It also means that there will be an RPG system, based on: statcap and skillcap concepts (hello Ultima Online), alignment and a rich crafting system spiced with an innovative flash minigames concept.
Life is Feudal: MMO takes place in a realistic-fictional world. We are inspired by the period of Early Medieval ages. This is our focus as we approach every aspect of our game developing process. Still, , story, race archetypes, some equipment and items are fictional. As for religion and beliefs are having a great practical influence on our world, allowing some localized wonders to appear or giving powers to players to recall back home or protect private property from vandals with some kind of divine force.
To sum everything up, fair to say that it’s neither a historical simulation game with 100% authenticity, nor we will have elves or orcs in game. During the whole process of development we were aiming to find a golden mean between realism and fiction.
Currently MMO is in closed beta stage and have made it through three testing runs. We’ve gathered a lot of feedback and bug reports, made a significant developing progress and now preparing for a last test run and an Open Beta Testing Stage.
