We all know that Breath of the Wild was a phenomenal success for Nintendo. It sold like hotcakes when the Nintendo Switch launched and it has been a steady seller all the way up until now.
What about the next Zelda game? Well, there are many rumblings that the next Zelda will not be a follow up to Breath of the Wild, but a remastering of the Nintendo Wii game, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
The reason for this is that Eiji Aonuma one of the masterminds behind the Zelda series teased it at a Zelda concert in Japan. The crowd went nuts and so have people online. Skyward Sword is one of my favorite Zelda games and the idea of getting to play that again is something I would certainly be into.
On the Nintendo Wii, Skyward Sword made use of the Wii Motion Plus. As a result, it relied heavily on motions controls. These worked better than they did for most games, but some things like powering up your sword and especially swimming felt more of a chore than they should be. Hopefully, in this remaster they will get rid of as many of those motion controls as possible.
To be honest with you, Skyward Sword Remastered being played with motion controls on the Switch would not be a deal breaker for me at all. I loved the adventure and really enjoyed the dynamic between Link and Zelda. At the time no other game made me want to actually rescue Princess Zelda more than Skyward Sword did.
Hopefully, there is some truth to this rumor and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is going to be coming to the Nintendo Switch as early as next year.
