Is October 2018 The Biggest Month Ever For Video Game Releases?

So I was doing a little planning ahead of the video games that I am going to be picking up this year and I was blown away at what a blockbuster month October is. I have been playing video games for around 30 years now and I am not exaggerating when I say that I am having a hard time recalling another month that was so stacked with game releases. Not only that, but September and November are pretty stacked too!

Anyway, I wanted to look at the video game releases for this October and show you just how crazy it is.

  • Forza Horizon 4
  • Mega Man 11
  • Fist Of The North Star: Fists Of Paradise
  • Assassins Creed Odyssey
  • Super Mario Party
  • WWE 2K19
  • Disgaea 1 Complete
  • Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII

All of the games I have just listed are released between the 2nd and 9th of October. How freaking crazy is that? You could argue that Fist Of The North Star and Disgaea are not huge releases, but you cannot say that about the other games. How on earth can all these games be successful when they are all released so close together?

  • Lego DC Super Villains
  • Starlink Battle for Atlas
  • Warriors Orochi 4
  • Battlefield V
  • Soul Calibur VI
  • Just Dance 2019
  • Red Dead Redemption 2

Then from the 12th of October to the 26th, we have this bunch of games. Granted Starlink Battle for Atlas and Warriors Orochi 4 may not set the world on fire, but the rest of that list, especially Battlefield V and Red Dead Redemption 2 are going to be monster hits. I wonder if any gamers will decide to skip the rest of Octobers offerings in order to just wait for Red Dead Redemption 2?  Out of all the “big hitters” if I were a betting man and had to predict which one of them would struggle this year I have a feeling it will be WWE 2K19. While the WWE has no competition really as far as wrestling games go, the last two WWE games from 2K have been very disappointing. I can easily see people deciding to skip this year’s WWE game as there is so much choice this October.

I would love to know if you guys could tell me of a month that has had more big releases than October 2018! All these games (there is at least five on that list I want) mean I better get budgeting my money right……. Or being extra nice to the wife.
