I love Predator! I have done since I was a kid and I could not be any more excited about the new Predator movie that I am going to see next week. Today I thought I would have a little bit of fun by looking at some of the Predator games I have plated over the years.
Please note that I am ignoring the Alien vs Predator games on purpose and just focusing on games all about the Predator..
Predator: ZX Spectrum
I am going way back here, but this is the first Predator game I ever played. The ZX Spectrum was our “family computer” back in the 80’s and I remember getting The Predator game for it. This game looked good, but it was so damn hard! I would have been about 6 or 7 the first time I played this and I could never get that far. You also hardly ever actually saw the Predator in it!
Predator 2: Sega Mega Drive
There were a few different games based on Predator 2, but the one I played back in the day was for the Sega Mega Drive. I loved this game when I was a kid. It is an isometric run and gun game. You would have to plow down drug dealers and criminals and save a bunch of hostages. Also, you would get to kill tons and tons of Predator. The game actually reminds me a lot of Smash TV in the way it feels. This is a game that I can play now and still have a lot of fun with.
Predator Concrete Jungle: Xbox
Released in 2005, Predator Concrete Jungle is the last game to be solely based on The Predator that was released for consoles. This is a 3rd person action game and it is a lot of fun. It actually has a really cool story that sees you needing to get back stolen Predator technology and kill the people responsible. It is a pretty gruesome game and it is one that is a lot of fun to play. It is not a perfect game, but one that is well worth a play through. While I played the Xbox version, it is also available on the PlayStation 2.
Predator has not gotten as much love as Alien has in terms of video games. Most of his appearances have been as part of the Alien vs Predator series. I would love to see a Predator game done in the style of the Batman Arkham games, I feel that would work very well.
