Today we are moving on to the awesome Nintendo Game Boy. I spent hours with my Game Boy as a kid. While I did not have the biggest game library for the Game Boy, when I did get a new game I would take my time and make sure I picked one that I knew I would like.
Today’s Nintendo Classic is one of my favorite original Game Boy games, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan.
This was released in 1990 and during Christmas break that year we took a trip to my grandparents and let me tell you if it was not for this, WWF Super Stars and Super Mario Land I am not so sure I would have gotten through it.
Fall of the Foot Clan lets you pick any of the four Turtles and you can pick what level you want to play through. There are five levels and while the game lets you pick what order you play them in. To really complete it you are going to have to beat the stages in order. Each stage would have a boss, Rocksteady, Bebop, Baxter, Shredder, and Krang were the bosses.
Gameplay was very simple. It is a standard side-scrolling platform/action game, but it is very well made. It is the kind of game that was perfect for the Game Boy. It was fun, easy to control and I thought it looked great too. It was quite easy to beat, but it was the kind of game that I liked so much I loved to beat it time and time again.
Whenever I play Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan these days I have fond memories of beating the game multiple times during that Christmas break at my grandparents. Konami followed this up with two other Turtles games on the Game Boy, but I actually love the simplicity of this one.
