This year's Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII is changing things up a bit. Instead of having a blockbuster campaign like we have had the last decade or so. Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII is instead going to have Blackout mode which is its take on the Battle Royale genre.
Many people seemed on board with this although I have to be honest and say that I for one love the Call Of Duty campaigns and feel that they are far better than people give them credit for. Still, it will be really cool to see what the folks at Treyarch do with the Blackout mode which seems to be the main selling point of Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII.
There has been a little discussion in regards to the player count. I think it is fair to say that as games like Fortnite, PUBG and H1Z1 allow for 100 players that we all thought Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII would do the same. This is looking like it may not be the case as a leaked screenshot has shown the setup for a Blackout match and it lists 2 to 60 players.
This leaked screenshot also showed that parties can have a max number of 12 players. So this could mean that there is going to be some kind of team-based mode kind of like what PUBG and Fortnite do. I think a squad-based Battle Royal mode in Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII sounds very interesting and I actually think that 12 is a better number than 20 or 4. 12 gives you that perfect balance of having an army, but not so many people that it is hard to keep track of everybody.
To be fair this “leaked” screenshot could just be a version of the game that is still deep in development and because of this it cannot handle 100 players. Although I have to say that if the number of players that can play Blackout in Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII is in fact 60 I do not think that is bad at all.
