Battlefield V To Struggle This Holiday Season?

Battlefield V To Struggle This Holiday Season?

A few weeks back I did a blog post on how stacked the month of October is for video games. Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII, Assassins Creed Odyssey, Forza Horizon 4, WWE 2K19, Red Dead Redemption 2, Super Mario Party and Battlefield V are some of the major titles to be released in quick succession of each other.

In that blog post, I stated how it was not possible for all these big titles to shift a ton of units. I thought that it may be WWE 2K19 that we would hear is struggling in the pre-order department. However, Battlefield V appears to the game that is not wowing people. Industry experts have said that the pre-order numbers for Battlefield V have been disappointing and some are saying that it could be another Titanfall 2.

What that means is that Titanfall 2 is a fantastic game. It got incredible review scores and those that played it loved it. The problem is not enough people played it and a huge reason for this is that it was released during a busy time, most notably during the same time Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare and Battlefield 1 were released. There was simply no space for many gamers for Titanfall 2.

The same looks to be true for Battlefield V. Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII and Red Dead Redemption 2 are the games that are most notably giving Battlefield V the business, but you would have to bet that the new Forza and Assassins Creed will take some sales away. People only have so much money, especially coming into the holiday season.

I think that Battlefield V looks fantastic. It has a campaign, robust multiplayer and a Battle Royale mode, but that may not be enough to get the kind of sales that EA and DICE want.
