2018 was a great year for gaming and 2019 is shaping up to be more of the same. Today I thought I would look at 7 of the games that are due out in 2019 that I am very excited to get my hands on.
Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 2 is one of my favorite games in the series and in all honesty was the game that made me a hardcore Resident Evil fan. Capcom is reimagining the game and it looks awesome. With amazing graphics thanks to the same engine that powered Resident Evil VII. Resident Evil 2 looks like it is going to be a blast. With many returning elements and some new surprises, it is sure to be a hit for long time and new fans alike.
Kingdom Hearts III
Could this game have taken any longer to come out? This along with Resident Evil 2 are the big hitters of January. Square-Enix has said that Kingdom Hearts III is the end of Sora’s story. As well as this some cool new game worlds have been added to the franchise for the first time. Monsters Inc. Frozen, Tangled, Toy Story all look fantastic. The combat looks faster and more fun than ever before too.
The reboot of Doom was nothing short of awesome and the sequel, Doom Eternal looks even better. This time around the demons have infested Earth and only you and a ton of firepower can put them back in their place. The Earth setting gives, Doom Eternal a very different look and style to the first game. I also love the look of getting around levels using the new grappling hook that the game offers.
Devil May Cry 5
I am a huge fan of the Devil May Cry series and actually, I thought that DMC was a pretty awesome reboot of the series. Well instead of a follow up to that we have a follow up to Devil May Cry 4. Anything that lets me hack and slash as Dante, Nero or perhaps someone new is cool in my book. The Devil May Cry series is just all about having fun and this game certainly looks like it is going to be a ton of fun.
It is like The Walking Dead meets Sons of Anarchy is how I have heard the PlayStation exclusive, Days Gone described. This open world game looks like it is going to be awesome. You are a biker who is in a world that has fallen on hard times, in all honesty, I am trying to stay away from story points as this is one game I want to experience without having anything to do with the story spoiled. When it comes to story driven games, the PS4 has nailed it this console generation and Days Gone looks like it is going to be a very story driven game indeed.
Team Sonic Racing
May seem like an odd game to make my list, but I loved the first Sonic Racing game. It was a million times better than Mario Kart Wii. I also thought that Sonic Racing Transformed was a damn fine game as well. I am not too sure about the team aspect of Team Sonic Racing, but the racing action looks just as tight and fun as it was in the first two games so I am very excited to see what this brings to the table.
